First and foremost, George Kennedy is an instinctual artist who has to be inspired by his subject or idea before he lifts his paintbrush.  He strives to paint what he feels inside himself when painting his subject.  In this way he feels that his energy and emotion become part of the painting and transform the image into one that lives and breathes. In turn, he feels that somehow these emotions draw the viewer into the painting and make a personal connection with them.

With animals, his goal is to make the viewer feel as though he’s just run his hands along the muscled back of a thoroughbred racehorse; or dug his fingers into the warm, rough coat of a panting Labrador.
