| “You
only get life out of a painting if you put life into
it.” George Kennedy.
George Kennedy is an instinctual
artist who is self-taught and paints through passion
alone. With his heart in the country his paintings
exude the texture and colour of the rural environment.
This includes his paintings of dogs and horses which he brings
to life to such an extent that the viewer feels
he can run his hand down the muscled back of a thoroughbred
racehorse, feel the excitement of a horse race or feel their fingers furrow through the thick coat of a sheepdog.
It
is the combination of the use of texture and an
instinctive naturally fluent style of painting which
puts life into what he paints.
